Landslide victory for DA

25 April 2024 by Guest

Dear Editor

The DA’s win in the Ward 4 by-election in Pearston in the Blue Crane Route Municipality is a victory for the residents of the municipality.

The people of Pearston are sick and tired of living without water and no service delivery and they have sent a strong signal to the ANC in the Eastern Cape that they are fed-up of their broken promises and have endorsed the DA’s record of delivery and good governance.

The DA won 52,20% of the vote, increasing our support from the 44,26% achieved in the 2021 Local Government Elections. The ANC lost the ward as it support dropped from 53,75% in 2021, to 47,13%

This great result will see a hard-working DA ward councillor, Herbert Davenport, come into office.

This is a positive indicator in the run-up to the 29th of May General Election and a historic win in Blue Crane Route Municipality, where the DA now has the same number of seats as the ANC.

It is very clear that change is on the horizon in the Blue Crane Route Municipality and we want to thank all of the voters in Pearston who came out to support the DA to bring about good governance and better service delivery for all of the residents of Blue Crane Route.

Regards

Andrew Whitfield MP
DA EC Provincial Leader
