LookSee a Guarantee

12 December 2024 by Guest

LookSee’s new Savings Guarantee provides households with minimum savings expectations and a R2 000 cashback if the savings are not met.

Families considering investing in a home solar installation will now be able to make the decision with confidence, following the launch of
LookSee’s new Savings Guarantee. This guarantee is the first of its kind in the residential solar industry and provides households with the minimum
savings they can expect to see on their electricity bill and a R2 000 cashback if the savings are not achieved.

Households are increasingly looking for ways to protect their families from electricity tariff hikes that are well above inflation and placing
their budgets under pressure. While it’s generally understood that home solar solutions can help households reduce their monthly electricity
bills, the lack of certainty around the extent of these savings can leave families reluctant to take the next step of investing between R50 000 and R300 000 in a solar system.

LookSee’s Savings Guarantee provides peace of mind to households considering a new hybrid solar installation by providing a minimum savings amount the family can expect to see on their electricity bills over a period of 6 months. This personalised savings amount is reached using sophisticated
calculators that assess the property’s generation potential, household electricity consumption, and daily consumption patterns.

Should the guaranteed savings not be reached over the 6-month period, LookSee will provide a once-off R2 000 cashback into the bank account of the customer’s choice.

LookSee executive head, Marc du Plessis, explains the Savings Guarantee will also address the issue of overstated generation and savings potential which has become common in the industry.

“Typically, solar companies base their savings projections on the highest generation potential of the solar panels. However, this generation potential
is rarely met outside of laboratory settings, which results in customer disappointment when the promised savings potential is not met.

“That’s why we’ve invested in developing these specialist calculators so we can provide our customers with a realistic expectation of the immediate
savings potential of their solar investment,” he says.

Another key element of the Savings Guarantee is the work LookSee does with customers post-installation to ensure their savings are maximised. This includes an easy-to-understand guide on how to schedule heavy loads to make the most of the daylight hours, access to software that automatically optimises inverter and battery settings to reduce use of grid power, and ongoing remote system monitoring to identify any issues.

LookSee’s Savings Guarantee is available on all new hybrid solar installations.

Property Prices: According to the Economist, South Africa ranks 4th on the percentage improvement to property prices 2015 from a year earlier. It was found that there was a 9.7% improvement. Ireland came first at 16%. When 2015 is compared with 2009 South Africa ranks 6th at a 40% improvement, with Brazil being first at 155%. For those wanting to start or increase their property portfolio, South Africa is the right place to be. A R5 million luxury apartment on the KZN North Coast with sea views surely beats a R5 million cupboard in London.
