Major changes for SIM cards proposed in South Africa | SA News

Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub has called for a “more sophisticated” SIM card registration system in South Africa, and Farhad Khan, former MTN Zambia CEO and independent consultant, agrees.

Speaking to 702, Kahn said the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-related Information Act (RICA) remains relevant.

However, the issues don’t relate to the legislation itself, but rather to the ability of South African authorities to enforce it.
