Meta to Pay Historic First Dividend

The social media giant Meta Platforms, owner of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, is preparing to pay its first-ever dividend, and the last day to buy shares that qualify for the payout is within the week.

Other companies that have increased their first quarterly dividend in 2024 include:

  • Sherwin-Williams Company: an American manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of paints, coatings, and related products, increased by 18% from last year’s quarterly payout.
  • HF Sinclair Corporation: an American energy company headquartered in Houston, Texas, increased by 11%.
  • Kinsale Capital Group Inc: an American insurance company specializing in property and casualty insurance (+7%).
  • Tractor Supply Company: an American retail chain of farm and ranch equipment and supplies stores (+6%).

Northrop Grumman Corp, RTX Corporation, and Applied Materials Inc are some of the companies known for their consistent dividend growth, having increased their dividends after every four quarters. The upcoming payout mirrors the previous three payouts.
