Business coaching, strategic guidance and ongoing mentorship help emerging businesses strengthen their strategies, systems and foundations for sustainable growth.

My SME partnered with TsAfrika and Tsebo to support entrepreneurs through Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives designed to provide practical business knowledge, strategic guidance and ongoing support. The programmes provide entrepreneurs with tools and frameworks to better understand their businesses, strengthen their operations and develop more sustainable foundations for growth.

The programmes combine structured business coaching with practical business development. Through a 16-session coaching programme and weekly mentoring, entrepreneurs receive guidance across areas including business strategy, financial modelling, branding, marketing, business systems and compliance. The approach is designed to help entrepreneurs understand the South African business environment while developing practical strategies that can be applied to their day-to-day businesses.

Brand and marketing development also form part of the support provided. Depending on the project, My SME has assisted businesses with branding and logo design, flyers, menus, TV display designs, digital presence and other practical marketing materials. This work helps participating businesses establish a more professional presence and gives entrepreneurs practical tools to communicate their products and services to their target markets.

The partnership has included sponsored ventures such as Noni’s Coffee and Phuti Café, where My SME provided the business-development component of the Enterprise and Supplier Development programme. The wider ESD project work has also included project audits at Anglo American in Rosebank and Exxaro in Centurion, extending the work beyond individual business coaching to include the review and assessment of ESD initiatives.

“Enterprise and Supplier Development is most effective when entrepreneurs receive practical support that they can apply to their businesses over time. Our focus is not only on providing business training, but on helping entrepreneurs understand their strategy, strengthen their systems and build the practical foundations they need to continue developing their businesses.”

The results speak for themselves:

  • ESD projects structured over 12–24 months
  • 16-session business coaching programme
  • Weekly business mentoring
  • Business strategy and financial modelling support
  • Branding and logo development
  • Marketing materials and digital support
  • Flyers, menus and TV display design for applicable coffee-shop projects
  • Business systems and operational guidance
  • Compliance support
  • Ongoing business-development support
  • ESD project audits at Anglo American in Rosebank and Exxaro in Centurion

The programme included:

  • Practical business coaching
  • Business strategy development
  • Financial modelling
  • Branding and professional positioning
  • Website and digital presence development where applicable
  • Marketing support and promotional materials
  • Business systems and operational guidance
  • Compliance support
