Neslspruit: Swift Arrest After Fatal Stabbing

6 October 2024 by Guest

The SAPS in Bushbuckridge has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a fatal stabbing incident that occurred at a certain tavern in Collegeview, Bushbuckridge in the early hours of Saturday, 05 October 2024. During the tragic incident, a 25-year-old man was sadly killed. Be as it may, the suspect (26) has since been arrested on the same day of the incident and thanks to the exceptional work by the men and women in Blue from Bushbuckridge.

The victim, identified by his family as Bright Mnisi from Mkhuhlu near Hazyview, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at Mapulaneng Hospital and was certified dead by the medical personnel.

Following the incident, members of the SAPS from Bushbuckridge investigated and wasted no time as they traced and apprehended the suspect in connection with the murder.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 07 October 2024, where he will face a murder charge.

The motive behind the killing remains unknown at this stage and forms an integral part of the ongoing investigation by the Police.

Meanwhile the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has commended the diligence and determination of the members in swiftly apprehending the suspect. The General also expressed his concern about the prevalence of crimes that emanate from liquor outlets and urged liquor traders to adhere to regulations and prioritize the safety of their patrons. “We continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and bring offenders to justice but looking at time when this particular incident reportedly occurred around 03h40 am, then one begins to ask some questions as to whether the liquor owner was in compliance? The SAPS remains committed to ensuring justice is served for the victim and his family, ” said the General.
