Bangladesh won a thrilling Super Over against England in the final round of warm-up matches ahead of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Malaysia 2025.
England made 113 from their 20 overs, before Bangladesh lost their final wicket to a run-out with the scores tied.
In the Super Over, Sadia Akter was the star for Bangladesh, making eight off three deliveries as they scored 11.
England were restricted to nine for the loss of one wicket as Bangladesh narrowly came out on top.
There was an impressive victory for Nigeria against Scotland, winning by seven wickets as they chased down their target of 63.
Lilian Ude starred with the ball, taking three for 15 from her four overs, with Pippa Sproul (25) the only Scot to make a significant score.
In reply, Victory Igbinedion (25) and skipper Piety Lucky (28 not out) put on a stand of 33, which proved crucial as they claimed victory in 11.3 overs.
Elsewhere, New Zealand bounced back from their warm-up match defeat to the USA by beating the West Indies by 79 runs.
Batting first, New Zealand scored 151 for two, with openers Emma McLeod (50) and Kate Irwin (46) both impressing before retiring.
Anika Todd was the pick of the bowlers as the wickets were spread around – she took two for three from her only over.
USA are two from two in their warm-ups, following up that victory over New Zealand by beating Nepal by five wickets.
Restricting Nepal to 58 for nine, the Americans then chased down the runs in 14 overs despite the best efforts of Riya Sharma, who took three for 15.
Isani Vaghela impressed with bat and ball for the USA, scoring 24 from 28 deliveries after taking one for four.
Australia continue to impress, beating Pakistan by 54 runs by DLS. Batting first, the Australians made 137 for two from their 20 overs, with wicket-keeper Kate Pelle top-scoring with 41.
Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals, as Tegan Williamson and Juliette Morton each finished with three for seven.
Reigning champions India were also in fine form, beating South Africa by six wickets by DLS.
Kayle Reneke’s 26-ball 47 set South Africa up for a competitive first-innings total, making 129 for five.
India’s chase was comfortable throughout, however, with Trisha G and Kamalini G both retiring out after making 32 and 29 respectively to see them on their way.
Sri Lanka beat Samoa by 76 runs after a great showing with the ball. Samoa had bowled out their opponents for just 114 but were quickly in trouble in reply as Chamudi Praboda took three for six from four overs with Samoa bowled out for 38.
Last but not least, hosts Malaysia were lost by five wickets to Ireland, who chased down their target of 71 in 13.4 overs.
Captain Niamh McNulty took three wickets for 14 for Ireland, before Abbi Harrison steadied the ship following some early wickets that had left Ireland on 32 for four.
The wicket-keeper ended up unbeaten on 21 from 26 deliveries to wrap up a second warm-up win for Ireland.
The tournament proper gets underway on Saturday, 18 January.
