Statement by Ashor Sarupen – DA Federal Council Chairperson:
The IEC has published the final list of all Certified Candidates for the Local Government Election, and the DA is the only party in South Africa to have a candidate in every Ward.
Only the DA has achieved a full national offering to the voters of South Africa in this election, because the DA is serious about being the biggest party in South Africa.
After the 2024 Election, when the DA entered national government for the first time, we said the pathway forward was to become the biggest party in South Africa. And that is well on track.
This means that the DA is the only party which will be on every single ballot paper, in every ward, in every municipality. There is no polling station at which you cannot vote DA.
And the DA is one of only two parties in South Africa contesting every single Municipality.
We are immensely proud of our internal systems, and the DA team which has delivered this achievement.
Not only meeting the deadlines, but presenting candidates who have met the requirements for certification by the IEC, in every Ward.
The DA stands ready to contest the upcoming election in every Ward, and with voters support to win, and deliver.
Only the DA can win and get your town or city working for all, on 04 November.
