Oops – Did You Ask Alexa Why You Should Vote for Trump or Harris?

4 September 2024 by Alan

In this X (Twitter) post from @bennyjohnson we see a women ask Alexa why she should vote for Donald Trump and gets an answer that disclaims Alexa being ‘allowed’ to “provide content that promotes a specific political party or candidate”. She then doubles down and asks Alexa; “Why should I vote for Kamala Harris?” and gets an entire spiel on reasons why.

Disquieting and Disturbing are two words that come to mind.

Anyway – I went and asked Opera’s AI Assistant, Aria the following; “Why should I vote for Donald Trump?” and received this reply:

When considering whether to vote for Donald Trump, it’s essential to evaluate his policies, achievements, and the reasons his supporters advocate for him. Here are some key points that supporters often highlight:

Economic Policies
Tax Cuts: Advocated for and implemented significant tax cuts, which supporters say stimulated economic growth.
Job Creation: Emphasized bringing jobs back to the U.S. and reducing unemployment rates, particularly among minority groups.

Foreign Policy
America First: Promoted a foreign policy that prioritized American interests, including renegotiating trade deals.
National Security: Focused on strengthening the military and addressing immigration policies to enhance national security.

Judicial Appointments
Supreme Court Justices: Appointed three Supreme Court justices who are seen as conservative, which could influence significant legal decisions for years to come.
Federal Judiciary: Appointed numerous judges to lower federal courts who align with conservative values.

Deregulation
Reducing Regulations: Advocated for reducing regulations on businesses, which supporters claim spurred innovation and economic growth.

Base Support
Populist Appeal: Cultivated a strong base among working-class voters who feel their needs were overlooked by traditional politicians.

Summary
Ultimately, whether or not to vote for Donald Trump will depend on your values, beliefs, and priorities. It’s important to evaluate his policies and how they align with your views on various issues.
