The SA20 Schools Tour kicked off today, the 21st November 2025 at Parklands Primary School in Cape Town.
With a fresh focus on bringing cricket, culture and shared South African energy directly to the learners who represent the league’s next generation of fans. Designed as a nationwide celebration ahead of Season 4, the tour set out to reconnect with communities and build excitement for the summer of cricket.
The atmosphere at Parklands Primary school was electric to say the least and kids were completely in awe at the chance to meet cricket Legend, Allan Donald and current MI Cape Town player , Dane Peidt. The overall enthusiasm for cricket was palpable and definitely setting the tone for the upcoming season that kicks off on the 26th December.
Allan Donald said , “Spending the morning with the learners at Parklands Primary School was a real highlight. Their questions, their energy and the way they talk about the game reminded me why cricket means so much to so many people. Seeing how excited they are for SA20 Season 4, and getting to sign a few bats and hear their stories, was something special.”
Dane Piedt, echoed similar sentiments by stating : “Being with the kids today was brilliant. You could feel their excitement for the new SA20 season as soon as we stepped onto the field. If this is the kind of energy coming through, Season 4 is going to be a cracker. Days like this show how much cricket can inspire and uplift young people.”
School Tour Host, Moshe Ndiki, charismatic TV presenter and comedic media personality and entrepreneur engaged with the kids and they loved every minute of interacting with him. This year, Moshe is also one of 6 20th Players. This season the arrival of the 20th players will be making sure fans in all the respective regions are excited and ready to support their favourite teams. Fans are also encouraged to be on the look out on social media platforms for more information about what the 20th players are getting up to. “The excitement together with the screams and chants shows me that cricket has a real place in the hearts of these kids. The future of cricket is in good hands if these kids have anything to say about it. I loved every moment of this morning”, said an exuberant Ndiki.
The programme featured a mix of entertainment and engagement. Learners were met with the new SA20 anthem, “Put Your Hands Up,” a home-grown collaboration that captures the energy and unity of South African sport. The anthem was performed live by YoungstaCPT, who delivered a Cape Town-inspired version that blended rhythm, culture and local pride.
The Schools Tour forms part of the wider build-up to Season 4 of SA20, which runs from 26 December 2025 to 25 January 2026. The new festive window will allow families and holidaymakers to experience a month of world-class cricket and live entertainment in stadiums across Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha and Paarl. The anthem “Put Your Hands Up” by Fedde Le Grand, will continue to feature throughout the season, with fans encouraged to join the movement on TikTok and Instagram using #SA20 and #PutYourHandsUpSA20. The campaign unites sport and music, giving fans a reason to celebrate their teams long after the school bell rings.
