7 November 2026 – The South African Football Association’s (SAFA) Technical Division hosted a workshop that brought all the Association’s national team coaches together and also inducted the new Bafana Bafana technical team at SAFA House.

Those in attendance at SAFA House included SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao, Technical Director Molefi Ntseki, Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane and the members of his technical staff – Morena Ramoreboli, Kabelo Rangoaga and Musi Matlaba – SA Under-20 and Under-23 coach Raymond Mdaka, Head Coach of SAFA Girls’ High Performance Centre Maud Khumalo and South African U15 Boys National Team  Selekedi Mogale, among others.

SAFA Technical Committee deputy chairman Doctor Khumalo, SAFA youth coach and talent scout David Nyathi, SAFA Head of the Coaching department Zunaid Mall and National youth scout Aaron Mokoena were also in attendance.

The highlight of the gathering were the presentations made by Ntseki (SAFA Playing Philosophy and Game Model), Mosimane (Coaching Philosophy and Bafana Bafana Vision 2030), Rangoaga (SAFA Physical Conditioning Model), Matlaba (SAFA Analysis Model) and Mall (Coaching Methodology).

“The main objective of today’s gathering, bringing together all our national team coaches, was to have a technical induction of the new Bafana Bafana Technical Team,” the SAFA Technical Director said.

“We all know that Coach Pito was appointed in September 2026 and he came with his technical team, and in the technical team for the first time we had the assistant coach, the conditioning coach and also the analyst all on a full-time basis.

“This is what I’ve been looking forward to, having an analysis department that will help all the national teams and come up with all the new trends in analysis so that our national teams, from Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20, get the same service from our analysts.

“So, it was important for us to have this workshop, which was more of a one-day workshop, where were sharing ideas and having knowledge exchange. But the most important thing was to do a technical induction of our Bafana Bafana Technical Team.

“Regarding the induction, we were more into the SAFA playing philosophy so that our national team coaches can understand that there is a SAFA playing philosophy that has got the culture, that has got the values and the mission in terms of where we want to take our football.”

South African Football: The team had a memorable 2-1 victory over Mexico in the opening match of the 2010 World Cup.
