The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) calls on residents and businesses to offer their support to the San Michele Home for the disabled in Withok, Brakpan, after the Home’s 450 000 litre water tank burst over the weekend.

Consequently, the Home does not have adequate water supply.

The Home cares for the most vulnerable members of the community, and urgently needs clean drinking water as well as grey water for hygiene and cleaning purposes.

Although the Freedom Front Plus and several residents have already stepped in to deliver thousands of litres of water, more help is urgently needed.

Local businesses, churches and residents are called upon to donate bottled water or potable water in bulk.

Grey water, suitable for cleaning, can also be donated.

It would be most welcome if companies or individuals would be willing to donate or lend water tanks exceeding a capacity of 10 000 litres to San Michele.

The party also appeals to plumbing or engineering companies to offer their assistance with repairing the damaged water tank.

Donors can deliver water or water tanks to the San Michele Home at 226 Hannes Visagie Street, Withok, or the collection point at 25 Gloucester Street, Dalview.

In times like these, the people of Brakpan have to join hands, as every drop of water and every bit of support could make a massive difference for the residents of the San Michele Home.
