SAPS Need You to Help Find Armed Robbers

FREE STATE – Bultfontein police are seeking assistance from the public to trace five suspected armed robbers. This is after a liquor delivery truck was allegedly robbed on the R708 Road, near Bultfontein.

It is alleged that on Thursday, 20 August 2026 at about 14:37 police were summoned to a scene of a possible armed robbery. On their arrival on the R708 between Theunissen and Bultfontein they were alerted to a delivery truck that was found parked on the road shoulder. They were further pointed to a 23-year-old driver and his two passengers aged 22 and 33 who were discovered severely injured with hands tied with cable ties.

According to information the three victims were struck with firearms on the heads by the unknown male suspects before losing consciousness. The suspects then allegedly tied the victims hands with cable ties before they made off with liquor from the truck and two cellphones.

The five (5) african male suspects were seen traveling in a white Volkswagen vehicle with a Lesotho registration. Prior the incident the suspects indicated to the truck driver that there was some fault with the truck tyres. Upon stopping the truck the three male victims were attacked by three armed suspects who were occupants on the abovementioned Volkswagen vehicle.

The truck driver and his two passengers were discovered by a passersby who then alerted the police.

The suspects are still at large and are being sought by police.

Police urge anyone with information that could lead to the arrests of the suspects to come forward. D/Constable Dibuseng Mateba of the Bultfontein Detectives can be contacted on 082 466 7928.
