On Tuesday, November 11th, the Plenary of the Senate, under the presidency and moderation of Agustín Nze Nfumu, Second Vice-President of the Senate, reviewed the questions that arose during the single reading of the Public Sector Contracts Bill, which will be submitted to the Government for clarification.
The Senate plenary session dedicated today’s work to reviewing issues concerning aspects that generated doubts and concerns among senators during the single reading of the Public Sector Contracts Bill, which require clarification from the Government. These issues were presented by the First Secretary of the Board, Martín Crisantos Ebe Mba.
Specifically, the legislators, led by the institution’s Second Vice President, Agustín Nze Nfumu, thoroughly debated all the questions in order to obtain a list of them agreed upon and focused on the doubts and concerns observed by the legislators, during the study in a single reading of the articles of the Public Sector Contracts Bill, in order to obtain relevant and convincing answers from the Government in its next appearance before the Senate Plenary.
The future Public Sector Contracts Law aims to establish mechanisms to facilitate access to public tenders for citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises, through tools that simplify procedures and reduce the administrative burden on economic operators involved in this area, benefiting both bidders and contracting authorities.
The aforementioned bill consists of 97 articles, two additional provisions, three transitional provisions, one repealing provision, and one final provision.
