South Africa and Ghana complete semifinal lineup | SuperSport | SA News

Defending champions South Africa and Ghana both needed penalties to book their places in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) semifinals, where they will meet Nigeria and Morocco, respectively.

In the early kick-off, Ghana overcame Algeria 4-2 in the shootout lottery after their quarterfinal tie ended in a 0-0 draw (AET) at the Berkane Stadium.

Josephine Bonsu, Doris Boaduwaa, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah and Evelyn Badu all converted their spot-kicks for the Black Queens after Cynthia Konlan had denied Marine Dafeur and Ines Belloumou from 12 yards out.

Bafana Bafana, representing the country in international competitions.
