The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Deputy Commissioner Astrid Ludin as president of the International Organisation of Pension Supervisors (IOPS). This appointment places South Africa and the FSCA at the forefront of global pension supervision discussions.
The IOPS, a global standard-setting body for pension regulation, plays a key role in guiding best practices to support the development of sustainable and transparent pension systems worldwide. Ludin’s new role underscores the FSCA’s commitment to advancing effective pension supervision in South Africa and Africa at large.
As president, Ludin will oversee initiatives aimed at addressing critical pension challenges, facilitating knowledge exchange, and contributing to the evolution of international pension regulatory standards. Her leadership ensures that the interests and perspectives of African jurisdictions will be well-represented in IOPS’s global work.
