State Vehicles Stolen

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Lebowakgomo are investigating a case of burglary business that occurred at a workshop in Lebowakgomo on Friday 21 July 2023. According to Police report, two motor vehicles belonging to the State were reportedly stolen from the premises .They were brought in for mechanical repairs.

The owner of the workshop allegedly left the premise on Friday, 21 July 2023 at around 15:50 . The doors, gates and windows were properly closed and everything in order.

Today on Saturday 22 July 2023 at about 09:30, he received cellphone calls from officials from the South African Police Service in Lebowakgomo and Provincial Department of Road and Transport informing him that the two motor vehicles were involved in accident at Marble Hall Policing area. Afterwards he rushed to the workshop and upon arrival noticed that the fence was cut off together with a padlock of the wall fence and a roller door of the workshop.

Upon further observation, the complainant discovered that two motor vehicles were stolen from the premises.

Police were summoned to the scene .It was discovered that the stolen motor vehicles were positively identified at the accident scene in Marble Hall as a Toyota Hilux belonging to Saps Motetema and Mazda Drifter attached to the Provincial ‘s Department of Roads and Transport.

The suspects are currently unknown at this stage and Police are investigating a business burglary case following the incident.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and urged the Community to provide Police with information that can assist in the arrest of the suspects.

Police investigations are continuing.
