Stellantis celebrates dealer excellence

31 July 2024 by Guest

MIDRAND, July 31, 2024 – Stellantis South Africa has celebrated the performance of their dealer network, ranking winners across seven categories in addition to each of the brands. The Stellantis Dealer of the Year awards was hosted at Monte Casino against the backdrop of the company’s latest product introduction, the Citroën C3 Aircross.

The event aims to celebrate the top dealers’ unrelenting commitment to excellence and extraordinary contributions to the Stellantis brand. “It is important to celebrate each dealer’s dedication to customer satisfaction, brand focus and business achievement,” says Stellantis South Africa Managing Director, Mike Whitfield. “This event was also a great occasion for us to show case our New Citroën C3 Aircross which signifies an exciting future for our brand.”

As an addition to the current C3, the Aircross plays in the very competitive B-SUV segment offering an exceptional customer value proposition.

Under the leadership of Hilton Cook, Zhai Auto George took the prestigious award of Top Service Dealer of the Year in the rural category. For the metro category, Westvaal Paarl took top prize followed by Key Pinetown in the metro category.  Key Pinetown’s Antonio Dos Reis and Paul Emanuel have led their team to exceed customer expectations, cementing their status as the apex of service excellence throughout the Stellantis network. They also took home the Aftersales Quality Dealer of the Year, solidifying them as living the Stellantis value of putting the customer first.

Embodying the philosophy of “Customer First”, the Sales Quality Dealer of the Year award is to celebrate dealers that ensure customers look forward to their next visit. Led by visionary Graeme Wood, Motus Cargo Bedfordview won this category for the metros. In the urban category, Motus Maemo Rustenburg was celebrated, as was Midbay Richards Bay as the best rural dealer.

Motus Cargo Bedfordview demonstrated their commitment to perfection and a desire to challenge the status quo is reflected in their exceptional achievement as the metro Parts Dealer of the year. Also winning their second accolade, Westvaal Paarl took the win for the urban category and Molapo Motors Gaborone took rural honours.

Navigating challenging economic conditions, Tracy Coetzer from Midbay Richards Bay defied industry trends to achieve New Vehicle Sales Dealer of the Year for the rural category. A fantastic performance in the urban category came from Motus Maemo Rustenburg and the win for metro category dealers went to Motus Cargo Bedfordview.

With seven exceptional brands under the Stellantis banner in South Africa, achieving the top sales for each category is no small feat. These were the winning brand dealers:

Alfa Romeo Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       SMH Sandton
Jeep Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       Molapo Motors Gaborone
Peugeot Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       Midbay Richards Bay
Opel Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       Williams Hunt The Glen
Fiat Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       Rola Somerset West
Citroën Brand Dealer of the Year                                                       Midbay Richards Bay

The penultimate award section for the night was the category Dealer of the Year. Coming from the land of diamonds, Molapo Motors Gaborone truly shined bright in the rural category. In the urban category, Westvaal Paarl took the prize, and for the metros, Key Pinetown was the dealer on top.

Elevating themselves to the top step of the podium, the overall Stellantis Dealer of the Year award went to Westvaal Paarl. An exceptional performance by Heinro Schamrel, Heinrich Prinsloo, Willie Kriek and their leadership team, Westvaal Paarl owned four wins for the night, endorsing their hard work, dedication and commitment to the Stellantis brands.

Dealer awards showcase the efforts made by the dealer network throughout the year. Stellantis’ efforts towards customer satisfaction are a joint commitment with the dealers to put customers at the center of each brand experience. It takes resilience, grit, and sheer hard work, the rewards of which are felt in the dealership business – but especially, by customers.
