CSA Unveils the Proteas Men 2026/27 Home Season

Location: Sport

JOHANNESBURG: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today revealed The Proteas Men’s international fixtures for the 2026/27 home season, with Test cricket and One-Day Internationals (ODIs) headlining a busy summer against Australia, Bangladesh and England. First up is a multi-format tour against Australia, beginning with a three-match ODI series from 24 – 30 September. Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium will host the series opener on 24 September before the teams head inland for the annual Pink Day fixture at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 27 September. The series concludes at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom on 30 September. The reigning ICC World Test Champions (WTC) will then continue their WTC title defence in a three-match Test series against Australia from 09 – 31 October. Both teams return to Durban for the first Test from 09 – 13 October, with the series continuing along the coast at St George’s Park in Gqeberha from 18 – 22 October. A trip to Cape Town then follows, with the third and final Test of the series to be played at World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground, starting on 27 October. The Proteas will then welcome Bangladesh for an all-format tour. The Test side will first take centre stage in a two-match series on the Highveld, with the first Test at the DP World Wanderers Stadium from 15 – 19 November, followed by the second Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion from 23 – 27 November. The white-ball leg of the tour begins four days later with a three-match ODI series from 01 – 07 December, giving fans in East London, Gqeberha and Cape Town the opportunity to see the Proteas in action. The T20 International (T20I) series will then be staged across Kimberley, Benoni and Centurion from 10 – 13 December. Kimberley Oval remains an ICC-accredited venue. The earlier relocation of the Proteas Women’s fixture allowed for necessary maintenance and repairs, which will be completed ahead of the return of the international men’s fixtures. The international summer then reaches its peak with a three-match Test series against England. The first Test gets underway on 17 December at DP World Wanderers Stadium, before the traditional Boxing Day Test at SuperSport Park and the iconic New Year’s Test at World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground. The season concludes with a three-match ODI series against England, beginning at Boland Park in Paarl on 10 January, with Manguang Oval in Bloemfontein hosting the remaining two ODIs on 12 and 15 January to end an exciting summer of cricket in South Africa. The T20I series against England has been removed from this season’s calendar due to scheduling conflicts, and both parties are exploring opportunities to reschedule it at a later date. CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming three strong cricketing nations in Australia, Bangladesh and England. These tours will undoubtedly draw fans from across the country to our stadiums. We anticipate a vibrant and competitive summer that celebrates the very best of international cricket in South Africa. “Next season carries significant importance for both our Test and ODI teams. We have made a promising start to the new World Test Championship cycle, including a hard-fought 1-1 series draw against Pakistan and an impressive 2-0 victory over India, and it is important that we continue to build on that momentum and strengthen our position on the WTC table. “On the white-ball front, our focus remains firmly on building towards hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027. Every ODI series from here forms part of our preparation for that global event, not only as proud hosts, but as a team determined to compete strongly on home soil.” ODI Series against Australia 1st ODI – Thursday, 24 September at 10:00South Africa vs Australia – Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, Durban 2nd ODI – Sunday, 27 September at 10:00South Africa vs Australia – DP World Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg 3rd ODI – Wednesday, 30 September at 13:30South Africa vs Australia – JB Marks Oval, Potchefstroom Test Series against Australia 1st Test – Friday, 09 – Tuesday, 13 October at 09:30South Africa vs Australia – Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, Durban 2nd Test – Sunday, 18 – Thursday, 22 October at 10:00South Africa vs Australia – Dafabet St George’s Park, Gqeberha 3rd Test – Tuesday, 27 – Saturday, 31 October at 10:00South Africa vs Australia – World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town Test Series against Bangladesh 1st Test – Sunday, 15 – Thursday, 19 November at 10:00South Africa vs Bangladesh – DP World Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg 2nd Test – Monday, 23 – Friday, 27 November at 10:00South Africa vs Bangladesh – SuperSport Park, Centurion ODI Series against Bangladesh 1st ODI – Tuesday, 01 December at 13:30South Africa vs Bangladesh – Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium, East London 2nd ODI – Friday, 04 December at 13:30South Africa vs Bangladesh – Dafabet St George’s Park, Gqeberha 3rd ODI – Monday, 07 December at 13:30South Africa vs Bangladesh – World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town T20I Series against Bangladesh 1st T20I – Thursday, 10 December at 18:00South Africa vs Bangladesh – Kimberley Oval, Kimberley 2nd T20I – Saturday, 12 December at 14:30South Africa vs Bangladesh – Willowmoore Park, Benoni 3rd T20I – Sunday, 13 December at 14:30South Africa vs Bangladesh – SuperSport Park, Centurion Test Series against England 1st Test – Thursday, 17 – 21 Monday, December at 10:00South Africa vs England – DP World Wanderers Cricket Stadium, Johannesburg 2nd Test – Saturday, 26 – Wednesday, 30 December at 10:00South Africa vs England- SuperSport Park, Centurion 3rd Test – Sunday, 03 – Thursday, 07 January at 10:30South Africa vs England – World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town ODI Series against England 1st ODI – Sunday, 10 January at 10:00South Africa vs England – Boland Park, Paarl 2nd ODI – Wednesday, 13 January at 13:30South Africa vs England – Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein 3rd ODI – Friday, 15 January at 10:00South Africa vs England – Manguang Oval, Bloemfontein

The Proteas Women vs Pakistan: Luus and Jafta Seal Opening ODI Win

Location: Sport

BLOEMFONTEIN: Suné Luus and Sinalo Jafta delivered standout performances as the Proteas Women secured a 37-run victory over Pakistan in the opening ICC Women’s Championship (IWC) One-Day International (ODI) in Bloemfontein on Sunday. Luus anchored the innings with an unbeaten 93 off 76 balls (8 fours, 1 six), while Jafta produced a scintillating knock of 57* off 38 deliveries (8 fours) to register her maiden international half-century. Their efforts guided the hosts to 260/6 in their reduced 41-over innings. Pakistan fell short in their chase, finishing on 223 all out in 38.5 overs despite fighting half-centuries from Ayesha Zafar (81 off 94 balls; 7 fours) and Sidra Amin (68 off 69 balls; 9 fours). Tumi Sekhukhune (3/50) and Luus (2/31) led the Proteas Women’s bowling attack. Following a delayed start due to rain, the Proteas Women lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Despite losing an early wicket, with Tazmin Brits (10) caught off the bowling of Diana Baig (1/48), Laura Wolvaardt (43) was joined by Lara Goodall (13) as the hosts reached 52/1 at the end of 10 overs Shortly before the pair brought up their 50-run partnership, Goodall was dismissed by Sadia Iqbal (1/51), with South Africa progressing to 70/2 at the drinks break. After the interval, Pakistan claimed another crucial wicket, removing the in-form Wolvaardt seven runs short of her half-century. Following the skipper’s departure, Sune Luus and Annerie Dercksen (31) helped the home side regain momentum, combining for a half-century stand for the fourth wicket as South Africa reached 143/3 at the halfway stage of the innings. With South Africa bringing up 150 on the scoreboard, Luus celebrated her 19th ODI fifty. However, the impressive 80-run partnership was brought to an end when Dercksen was dismissed by Aroob Shah (1/39). The Proteas then lost another wicket in the following over, with Chloé Tryon (0) bowled by Nashra Sandhu (2/45) for her second scalp. Jafta’s aggressive strokeplay injected fresh impetus into the innings, pushing the Proteas to 203/6 after 35 overs. The wicketkeeper-batter continued to find the boundary with ease before raising her bat for a maiden international half-century in her 50th ODI. Jafta and Luus combined for a crucial 90-run partnership, guiding the hosts to a commanding 260/6. With the ball, the Proteas Women made an immediate impact, claiming two early wickets. Ayanda Hlubi (1/22) and Nadine de Klerk (2/36) dismissed Sadaf Shamas (0) and Muneeba Ali (2), reducing the visitors to 5/2 in the fourth over. Pakistan responded through Amin and Zafar, who steadied the innings with a 50-run partnership for the third wicket to reach 80/2 after 14 overs. The pair continued to build, bringing up a 100-run stand, with Amin registering her 14th career half-century before Luus made the breakthrough. Zafar soon followed with a half-century of her own, helping Pakistan progress to 159/3 after 28 overs alongside Natalia Pervaiz (7), who was later dismissed by Sekhukhune. South Africa tightened their grip on the contest as Luus accounted for Fatima Sana (5), leaving Pakistan on 175/5. De Klerk then claimed the key wicket of Zafar, further denting the visitors’ hopes. Aliya Riaz (32) and Shah (8) briefly resisted, pushing Pakistan past the 200-run mark before a sharp run-out by Sekhukhune and de Klerk ended Shah’s stay. South Africa wrapped up the contest with two quick wickets from Sekhukhune, who removed Baig (0) and Sandhu (4) to seal an emphatic victory with 13 balls remaining. The second IWC ODI will take place on Wednesday, 25 February at SuperSport Park in Centurion, starting at 14:00. Proteas Women’s ODI Squad: Laura Wolvaardt (Fidelity Titans) (Captain), Tazmin Brits (DP World Lions), *Fay Cowling (DP World Lions), Nadine de Klerk (World Sports Betting Western Province), Annerie Dercksen (Garden Route Badgers), Lara Goodall (World Sports Betting Western Province), Ayanda Hlubi (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Sinalo Jafta (DP World Lions), Suné Luus (Fidelity Titans), Karabo Meso (DP World Lions), Nonkululeko Mlaba (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Tumi Sekhukhune (DP World Lions), Nondumiso Shangase (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Chloé Tryon (DP World Lions) and Faye Tunnicliffe (World Sports Betting Western Province) *Uncapped Fixtures – Proteas Women’s Inbound Tour against Pakistan Wednesday, 25 February at 14:00 – 2nd IWC ODI: South Africa vs Pakistan (SuperSport Park, Centurion) Sunday, 01 March at 10:00 – 3rd IWC ODI: South Africa vs Pakistan (Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, Durban) ENDS For media enquiries, contact: Lita Gqirana +27 (0) 76 503 9655 litag@cricket.co.za Issued by: Cricket South Africa – Corporate Communications
