Pretoria: Jaguar TCS Racing will return to competition this weekend (Saturday, 6 December) in Brazil, as the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship begins with the 2025 São Paulo E-Prix.
The race marks the start of Jaguar TCS Racing’s milestone tenth season in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. During that time, the British team has a record to date of 22 wins, a further 31 podiums and 1,638 points from 127 race starts. Jaguar TCS Racing won the ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship in 2024, also taking the inaugural Manufacturer’s Trophy (now a World Championship) in the same year.
São Paulo will mark Ian James’ first race as Team Principal, and Antonio Felix da Costa’s first start as Jaguar TCS Racing #13 driver. Mitch Evans will start his 127th E-Prix for Jaguar TCS Racing in Sao Paulo – a race he won last year from the back of the grid – as he also begins his tenth season with the team.
Jaguar TCS Racing heads into the new campaign looking to build on the momentum of an incredible 2024/25 season, finishing runners‑up in both the FIA Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships. With six wins – five of them in the final six races – the team delivered more race victories than any other season to date. The I‑TYPE 7, now entering its second year in the GEN3 Evo homologation era won more races than any other car last year.
Both current Jaguar TCS Racing drivers finished on the podium in São Paulo last season in a remarkable race at the Anhembi Sambadrome. Mitch made history as the first driver to win a Formula E race after starting last on the grid, narrowly holding off António – then driving for Porsche – to take a dramatic win in the season opener.
It marked a second victory in São Paulo for the Jaguar TCS Racing #9, who has never finished off the podium in the three races Formula E has staged in Brazil.
The first round of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship begins at 14:05 Brasilia Standard Time (GMT –3 hours) on Saturday, 6 December.

It is going to be another really competitive year, and we have worked extremely hard in the off-season to ensure we are fully prepared for the campaign ahead. I finished on the podium last year in São Paulo and it would be great to get another strong result on my debut with the team.”
