The Blue Train Heads for Free State

7 August 2023 by Guest

Tomorrow, Tuesday 8 August 2023, DA Federal Leader John Steenhuisen MP will continue his nationwide Election 2024 registration tour in the Free State, including an outreach to civil society bodies and organised communities who will play a vital role in rebuilding South Africa as part of a Pact government in 2024.

The tour will begin with a visit to Frankfort, a town in the Mafube Municipality which is ground zero for energy independence from Eskom and Nersa.

The DA delegation will be meeting with Rural Maintenance and conducting oversight visits to the independent power producing infrastructure which the Mafube Municipality is blocking organised communities from using to become energy sufficient and independent.

The week will culminate with a press conference announcing the DA’s Free State Premier Candidate who will grow the party’s support and lead the province towards a successful election campaign in 2024 as rampant infighting and factionalism divides and weakens ANC support.

Steenhuisen will be accompanied by DA Free State Provincial Leader, Roy Jankielsohn MPL, DA Free State Provincial Chairperson, Werner Horn MP, and local DA Public Representatives on the week-long tour.
