Viwo Kulati’s New Single ‘Cela Kuwe’

12 March 2024 by Guest

South African songstress Viwo Kulati is set to make a triumphant return with the release of her latest single, ‘Cela Kuwe,’ a soulful and deeply inspirational track. The single is scheduled to drop on March 29, 2024, continuing her musical journey following her SAMA29 Nomination last year.

‘Cela Kuwe’ delivers a poignant message, encouraging listeners to find solace in prayer during challenging moments. The song is a testament to the power of surrender and trusting in a higher power when faced with life’s difficulties.

Viwo Kulati shares her motivation for the single: “The audience can expect to feel the urge to be closer to God, to pray. It’s a song that invites you into a private space to connect with the divine, to speak with God. It’s about saying, ‘I’ve done my best, and now I’m leaving it all up to God.'”

While primarily Afro Soul, the track reflects Viwo’s genre-defying approach to music. “I don’t limit myself when it comes to genre,” she states. “I create what I feel, influenced by different genres like jazz.”

Designed with simplicity, ‘Cela Kuwe’ aims to deeply resonate with listeners through catchy hooks, straightforward chords, and repetitive lyrics.

“I want my audience to not just hear the song but to feel it, to be inspired and moved by it,” Viwo emphasises.

The creation of this single was generously funded by the SAMRO Music Creation Support Fund.

Viwo Kulati’s latest accomplishments are complemented by her nomination for Best Adult Contemporary Album at the SAMA29 awards. She joins an illustrious list of artists, including Nobuhle Ashanti, Louise Carver, the Drakensberg Boys Choir, and giants like Vusi Nova, as she competes for this prestigious award.
