Warning to South Africans who use banking apps on their phones | SA News


South Africans who use smartphone banking apps should be aware of several tactics that criminals may use to try to infiltrate their bank accounts.

Aside from the common social engineering attempts aimed at getting bank customers to disclose sensitive banking information, criminals are also stealing smartphones and deploying malware.

The Institute of Bankers South Africa (IOBSA) recently issued a warning about mobile malware infecting smartphones running the Android operating system.
