Zambian govt seeks to halt Lungu’s burial in SA – SABC News – Breaking news, special reports, world, business, sport coverage of all South African current events. Africa’s news leader. | SA News

The Zambian Government has a lawsuit against the family of the late former Zambian President Edgar Lungu, seeking to stop his burial in South Africa today.

The government argues that no burial should take place until disputes surrounding Lungu’s final resting place are resolved.

Several of his family members, alongside the funeral service company holding his remains, are named in the lawsuit filed by Zambia’s Attorney General, Mulilo Kabesha.

Kabesha says that Lungu should be buried in Zambia with full military honours, in line with Zambian law and traditions.
