The Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K is an integral part of the nationwide Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series, which brings together runners from across the country to compete in vibrant city streets. The Series kicks off in Gqeberha, before moving to Cape Town, Durban, and Tshwane, and culminating in Joburg. “We’re excited to officially open entries for the 9th annual Absa RUN YOUR CITY DURBAN 10K,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Series Founder. “Over the years, Durban has become one of the standout events on the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series calendar, attracting runners from across the country who are eager to take on its scenic routes and vibrant city streets. This year, we’re excited to welcome both seasoned athletes and first-time participants to experience the energy, fun, and sense of community that define the Series. Myth: It’s all about being social. Fact: There’s A LOT more to it1 To an outsider, the ‘relationship-building’ that’s always referenced as the key to PR can be envisioned as a typical movie montage of professional life: fancy client dinners and drinks, followed by golfing or boating. While good social skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain clients’ and journalists’ trust do remain at the forefront of PR, many people don’t understand the work – from coordination and written communication to research and measurement – required to establish and maintain productive relationships. Clients won’t put their trust in you just because they like you – you need credibility and concrete results to back you up.
