On Wednesday, Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) councillors and supporters rolled up their sleeves and repaired the potholes in Elgin Road, Kempton Park, themselves.
What was once a dangerous stretch of road, used by thousands of commuters every day, is now pothole-free.
The party had repeatedly requested the Ekurhuleni Metro to repair the potholes, but nothing came of it.
So, the Freedom Front Plus decided to step in and do the repairs itself.
This proves that the Freedom Front Plus does not only promote Ekurhuleni residents’ interests in the council chamber, but also takes practical action to create a safer environment for all.
Kempton Park residents deserve better and should not have to pay the price for the Metro’s mismanagement.
The project sends a clear message to the Ekurhuleni Metro: Communities are able and willing to work together to rebuild a rundown town.

The party will actively keep working on compelling the Metro to fulfil its duty to maintain infrastructure.
