Firefighters Commended for Tireless Service During Fire Season

21 January 2026 by Guest

The GOOD Party hereby wish to extend our sincere gratitude and admiration to the firefighters of Stellenbosch Municipality and the Cape Winelands District Municipality, as well as partners such as Cape Nature, for their unwavering dedication, courage, and professionalism throughout this demanding fire season.

GOOD Statement by Robin Hendrikse, GOOD Stellenbosch Municipality councillor:

The GOOD Party hereby wish to extend our sincere gratitude and admiration to the firefighters of Stellenbosch Municipality and the Cape Winelands District Municipality, as well as partners such as Cape Nature, for their unwavering dedication, courage, and professionalism throughout this demanding fire season.

Once again, these men and women have placed themselves in harm’s way to protect lives, homes, livelihoods, farmland, and our natural environment. Their tireless efforts under extreme and dangerous conditions reflect the very best of public service and community commitment.

We also acknowledge and salute firefighters across other municipalities who continue to serve their communities with the same bravery and selflessness. Their work often goes unseen, yet its impact is immeasurable.

As fires continue to threaten parts of our region, especially in the Franschhoek region, where strong winds are driving the fires out of control over steep and uneven terrain, I wish all firefighters strength, safety, and resilience in the difficult days ahead. Our communities stand firmly behind you and remain deeply grateful for your service.

So Van is in a bar in London with a Frenchman and an Italian. They are boasting of their sexual prowess.

The Frenchman says \”When I pleasure my mistress, I tickle her nipples with a feather, and she floats an inch above the bed in bliss\”.

The Italian, not to be outdone, says \”When I make love to my girlfriend, I lick amaretto liqueur from her navel. She floats a foot above the bed in delight\”.

Van says \”Ya, well, er… When I screw my wife, I wipe my dick on the curtains afterwards, and let me tell you man, she hits the fuckin\’ roof!\”
