GOOD Statement by Brett Herron, Unite for Change Leadership Council Member and GOOD Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament:
The GOOD Party is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacey Otto as the new GOOD councillor for Hopefield, in the Saldanha Bay Municipality, filling the vacancy left by her late husband, Bjorn Witbooi, on 9 October 2025.
Bjorn was a dedicated councillor and a member of the GOOD National Leadership Council, known for his tireless advocacy for the people of Hopefield. He worked relentlessly to secure improved access to municipal and social services and embodied the values of servant leadership, justice, and community upliftment.
Otto, who has been part of GOOD since 2018, has long served the Hopefield community alongside Witbooi. Her appointment ensures continuity of service and reflects her deep understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations. She will carry forward the work and principles that defined Witbooi’s leadership, strengthening GOOD’s commitment to building a fairer, more caring society.
