In days gone by we would market our businesses in a number of ways:

  1. Yellow Pages Listings were a must
  2. Cold Calling was acceptable
  3. Adverts in the Daily Newspapers – Herald, Evening Post, Weekend Post, Die Burger, PE Express etc.
  4. Paid for Advertorials or to e quoted in Press Releases
  5. Branding on Radio – Radio Algoa being the first
  6. Bulk snail mail with personalised letters
  7. Membership of various societies like Freemasons, Rotary, etc.
  8. Vehicle Branding

Nowadays everything has moved online and the choices are many and loud.

We at MyPE and Straton have been through the mill when it comes to promoting a business online and dedicating time and superior knowledge to our marketing – in preference to spending cash.

As a result we have built a number of publications that will assist the savvy Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) based marketer mostly for FREE – all you need is a bit of time.

1. Replace the Yellow Pages with:

Submit your business details to the MyZAco.za Directory and/or
Submit your business details to the MyPE Directory.

These directories will give you the opportunity to list your business and lead readers to your web site to learn more or buy products/services.

2. Replace Cold Calling with:

Develop your list of contacts and for that you need to make full use of your existing website by curating a list from every person that contacted you via any of the forms on your site.

3. Replace Adverts in Daily Newspapers with:

Have a look at MyPEAds for value driven banner ad selections.
Submit Free Press Releases to https://MyPR.co.za
Submit Gqeberha business news to MyPE Business.

4. Replace Advertorials with:

Featured Press Release Submissions to MyPR.co.za.

5. Replace Branding on Radio With:

Develop your own podcast and make use of the MyZA Podcast Upload Facility to gain wider reach.

6. Replace Bulk Snail Mail with:

Offerings from resources such as MailChimp. But first make sure that you have your own domain name for emails for your business and employees. See: https://cp.reachtrust.co.za. Reach offers an email domain with 10 x 10 Gigabyte email accounts for a ridiculously low fee.

7. Keep up your membership of societies, sporting and cultural bodies etc.

8. Vehicle branding will not be replaced anytime soon.
