Man arrested for forging car license disks in Kuruman

A 48-year-old Tanzanian citizen appeared in court this week for allegedly manufacturing and selling fraudulent vehicle license discs.

Vincent Christian Mkumbo made a brief appearance before the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court on Friday for alleged cyber fraud, alternatively fraud, alternatively forgery and uttering.

According to the police, it is alleged that the Tanzanian citizen manufactured and sold fraudulent vehicle license discs. He would give clients a printout of the same license disc with an extended expiration date or which he renewed for an amount of R350.

On Thursday, a search and seizure operation was conducted at Promise Land, Kuruman.

“During the search, a red and black USB memory stick and the accused’s cellphone were seized for further investigation. The accused was immediately apprehended by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team.

“Mkumbo was released on R500 bail with the condition of informing the investigating officer about his movements out of Kuruman at all times,” said the police.

The case was postponed to 5 December 2024. – SAnews.gov.za

Hoezit /Howzit – How is it going? How are you? A common greeting which is often used instead of “hello” and “how are you?” It combines the two phrases into a simple, “Howzit”, thereby saving time.Example: “Howzit my bru!”
