Skosan Wings it to DHL Stormers

Springbok wing Courtnall Skosan has made the move home to his roots in Cape Town to play for the DHL Stormers.

After two seasons in the English Premiership with Northampton Saints, the prolific wing is back in the city where he grew up and learned the game, having signed with the DHL Stormers.

Skosan represented the Junior Springboks in 2011 and would go on to play in three Super Rugby finals for the Emirates Lions, making his Springbok debut in 2017.

He returns to South Africa with experience in European conditions to go with his natural pace and nose for the tryline.

DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson said that as both a proven international and someone who grew up supporting the DHL Stormers, Skosan is an ideal recruit for the mission to make Cape Town smile.

“We have all seen Courtnall’s incredible finishing ability over the years and he has a real passion for this region and what it means to represent the DHL Stormers.

“He brings valuable experience and a familiarity with European conditions and teams with him, which all makes him a highly valuable acquisition for us. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do in a DHL Stormers jersey,” he said.

Skosan said that the opportunity to return to Cape Town and play for the DHL Stormers was one that he couldn’t pass up.

“This is a very exciting time for myself and my family. To be part of a DHL Stormers squad that is already doing great things and back in Cape Town.

“I want to make the most of every minute I get in this jersey and do the supporters proud. I can’t wait for the new season to get underway,” he said.

  1. The term “wicket” is used multiple times in cricket. Getting a wicket is dismissing a batsman. Losing a wicket is getting dismissed. A bowler who dismisses a batsman is said to take a wicket. Sometimes, a cricket pitch is called a wicket, although this is considered incorrect by the Laws of Cricket. Regardless, it is still being used, especially by commentators.
