Constant pressure from the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) on the Mogale City Local Municipality (Krugersdorp, Magaliesburg, Muldersdrift) has been key in setting things in motion to reopen the Krugersdorp Game Reserve.
After years of making promises during State of the City addresses, Integrated Development Plan meetings and numerous council sessions, the Municipality has finally published the tender for renovating and operating this public facility.
Since the closure of the Reserve in 2007 following the death of the previous concessionaire, Mr Dirk Brink, the Freedom Front Plus has relentlessly campaigned for its re-opening in committees, council meetings and the media.
The Mayor, Mr Lucky Sele, also acknowledged that the Freedom Front Plus played a pivotal role in the decision to launch a public-private partnership through a tender process.
The party welcomes the proposed partnership between the Municipality and the private sector to once again open this once-iconic landmark of Krugersdorp to the public.
Although this is only the beginning, it is an important step in the right direction. The project has the potential to create jobs and generate revenue, which will benefit all Krugersdorp residents.
The Freedom Front Plus will closely monitor the tender process to ensure transparency and good governance.
With the 2026 elections around the corner, the Freedom Front Plus is ready to play an even bigger role in rebuilding Mogale City.
