Uber South Africa makes improvements for disabled riders – Hypertext | SA News

  • Uber South Africa has announced new improvements to its suite of features for elderly riders or riders living with disabilities.
  • It includes the training of 1 200 drivers in disability protocols and etiquette and new features for Uber Assist.
  • The company partners with inclusivity firm Shonaquip to roll out the upgrades.

In a step towards increasing inclusivity and accessibility in transport, Uber South Africa has teamed up with an enterprise that seeks to provide disabled South Africans with mobility equipment in Shonaquip to train over 1 000 drivers in disability awareness.
