WBeauty Complete Clarifying Shampoo Recall

4 September 2026 by Guest

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) informs consumers about the recall of certain WBeauty Complete Clarifying Shampoo, as notified by Woolworths (PTY) Ltd. The identifying SKU number is 6009233284823.

According to Woolworths, the recall of the limited batch of WBeauty Complete Clarifying Shampoo (250ml) is due to the presence of Pluralibacter gergoviae, a bacterium sometimes found in wet manufacturing environments. The product has been sold nationally through Woolworths stores since July 2025. The product was also exported to Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Mauritius, Zambia and Namibia.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are advised to discontinue use to avoid bacterial infection and return the product to their local Woolworths store for a full refund, with or without any proof of purchase.

Questions relating to this recall may be directed to: ProductRecall@thencc.org.za.

Fun South African Fact: South Africa’s natural and human fossil history dates back hundreds of thousands, even millions, of years. Early dinosaur fossils have been discovered in the Western Cape and up to 80% of mammalian fossils found so far have been discovered in the Karoo.
