Hartbeespoort Dam: Fire

Arthur Crewe, NSRI Hartbeespoort Dam station commander, said: At 18h05, Sunday, 22 September, NSRI Hartbeespoort Dam duty crew were activated following multiple eyewitness reports of a craft on fire on Hartbeespoort Dam, between Pecanwood Estate and Island Estate.

The NSRI rescue craft Sea Legs was launched and on arrival on the scene we found a group of adults and children onboard safe after the owner had extinguished the inboard motor fire.

Our NSRI crew made certain that all were safe onboard and the fire extinguished and we towed them to the harbour without incident.
