Johannesburg, July, 2024 – Nespresso South Africa is proud to announce the launch of a new coffee in the Master Origins Collection: MASTER ORIGINS ZAMBIA.

Zambia’s altitude, proximity to the equator, and plentiful freshwater sources in the northern province make it ideal for cultivating the finest Arabica coffee. The exceptional terroir produces a coffee with a distinctive and memorable taste, enhanced by an innovative fermentation process developed by Nespresso that reveals notes of exotic fruit and florals in the coffee.

Master Origins Zambia was developed through the combined talents and experience of Nespresso’s coffee masters and the French wunderkind celebrity chef MORY SACKO, whose Michelin star Paris eatery MoSuke wonderfully combines classic haute cuisine principles with his West African culinary heritage and his passion for all things Japanese.

Chef Sacko conceptualised an exceptional coffee much as he would envision an exceptional dish—driven by passionate creativity and inspired by a diversity of influences. Together, Mory Sacko and Nespresso’s master roasters uncovered the roast that best highlights the distinctive qualities of the unique Zambian coffee bean.

“I am delighted to celebrate the character of this coffee from Africa, a land that inspires me daily,” says Chef Sacko. “Together with the Nespresso experts, we worked on roasting these beans to reveal the unforgettable flavours of this unique Arabica. With this creation, we aimed to convey the same emotions found in the dishes I create, thinking of coffee as an invitation to travel.”

This new limited edition creation is inspired by the breathtaking natural spectacle of the wildlife and flora that inhabit this southern African country. This influence is reflected in the carefully crafted design of the packaging and capsules, paying homage to Zambia and the elegance of this coffee profile.

THE FRUIT OF EXPERTISE

Master Origins Zambia offers coffee lovers an unforgettable experience, showcasing the full potential of this new origin. Introducing yeast during the natural fermentation process after harvesting develops an unexpected aromatic profile in the Arabica. This technique helps preserve the richness of the ripe beans’ aromas.

Available in both Nespresso Original and Vertuo lines, this co-creation temporarily enriches the Master Origins range. The aromatic profiles of these coffees highlight the expertise of Zambian coffee farmers and showcase Chef Mory Sacko’s creativity.

This limited edition is available from Nespresso boutiques and on BuyNespresso.com, while stocks last.
