Celimpilo Kenneth Zungu (born 25 August 1997), professionally known as Tiga Maine, is a South African recording artist, performing artist, background artist, actor, producer, song-writer, promoter, music director, video editor, graphic designer, mentor, motivator and etc. Born in Kwazulu-Natal, Nkandla and raised in Mpumalanga, Balfour. He is regarded as one of the pushing artist independently without any plugs or a manager right by his side.
Early Life:
Celimpilo Kenneth Zungu was born on the 25th of August in 1997, he was born in Nkandla township that is near Durban, Kwazulu-Natal, He was raised in Mpumalanga, Balfour. He developed an interested in listening to Hip Hop around 2010 when he was in Bonukukhanya primary school doing grade 7.
He developed an interest in writing lyrics in 2012 when he was in Isifiso Sethu secondary school, by that time he wasn’t recording but writing till he found a studio to record his songs late 2012. In 2013 he performed one of his single tagged “Wanna Be With You” in a class of Arts & Culture with his group that was formed by his teacher and they got total marks of 10 out of 10.
Career:
On the music side, in 2014-2015, Tiga Maine started to collaborate with a lot of local and international artists, which helped him to get a good recognition all around the world. In 2014, he was offered a digital distribution contract by a company called MTE Digital Distribution from Pittsburgh and He never signed the contract. In 2015, he was signed by an independent label that resides in States, Portsmouth called Business Minded Entertainment, he released a single titled “Wanna Be Famous” under the label and it’s been doing great. In 2017, he signed a distribution deal with Rimond Distribution for a period of One Year, Road 2 Da Riches E.P was released under Rimond Distribution digitally. In 2017, he entered and won a competition called Babize Bonke that was playing on Soweto TV and he was interviewed by Lloyd Cele, they gave him prizes for winning the competition. He also entered and won the competition for the second time, he was interviewed by an Ambitiouz Entertainment signee “Cici”. Tiga Maine singles has been making waves on YFM, Metro FM, Gagasi FM, Flatline Radio, Hillbrow Radio, VUT FM, Sedibeng FM, Tucradio, Soundwave Radio, Tshwane FM, Merafong FM, E.K FM, Ligwa FM, Ligwalagwala FM and etc. He is associated with the likes of 2Lee Stark, Dosline, Nasty C, Tellaman, Rowlene, Gemini Major, Billydon Mokantas, Dj Maphorisa, Dj Clap, Leon Lee, Dj Buckz, Lastee, TDK Macassette, Ms. Toi, Shotgun Flava & etc.
On the acting side, in 2016, Tiga Maine joined Brian Atex Casting Agency which specializes with advertising, modelling, presenting, acting and etc. He was booked on Generations to work for Vuyo Dabula aka Kumkani Phakade (Gadaffi) and the mission was to kidnap Namhla at the airport unfortunately on the same day for shootings, he was writing june exams as he was doing matric….he was replaced with his agency mates for that role. In 2017, he was booked twice on Rhythm City as an extra at Bra Kops house, eating meal, drinking coke while he was flirting with some random girl he met there and the other scene he was working for Mduduzi Mabaso aka Bash at Killowatt. The same year he was booked on Generations The Legacy as an extra at Lucy’s shebeen and he was drinking beers with some people he first met from other agencies. In 2018, he signed a contract with a new agency called Afrigerm Talent Management and he was booked to play a garden boy role on Easy Money, he worked on the mansion that Khosi (Xoli Zondi), Moagi (Paballo Khoza), Justice (Tumelo Don Mosenye) were staying at. In 2018, mid-year he was booked on The Queen to play a role as a hitman of Zolisa Xaluva aka Diamond, he met up with TK Sebothoma aka Jomo at Corner House to talk about how are they gonna go and fetch their boss at Khoza’s house but Tiga Maine refuses to go there because he scared of Connie Ferguson aka Harriet, Sthembiso Khoza aka Shaka, Themba Ndaba aka Brutus and Loyiso MacDonald aka Kagiso, he was gonna get killed for trying to save Diamond.
